Five weeks

The historical significance of Guthrie is closely cherished by its residents. Once the capital of the State of Oklahoma, Guthrie has since become yet another case of a territorial city turned stagnant. The role of architecture in this project presents an extension of the vibrancy and importance of the city’s history to visitors and potential residents.Red brick facades dominate the gridded fabric of Guthrie’s historic district. This project aims to honor the strong timeline of the city through the careful choice of materiality, organizational systems, and expression of time.
